Sympto ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App").
Sympto is a wellness journal. We are not a healthcare provider. Our App is designed to help you track your lifestyle habits for informational purposes only.
2. Information We Collect
- Voice Data: When you use our voice logging feature, we record your voice to transcribe and analyze your entry.
- Log Data: Text entries regarding your mood, symptoms, meals, sleep, and activities.
- Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your email address. (You may also use the App anonymously).
- Device Data: Device model, OS version, and general usage statistics (e.g., "Daily Active Users").
- HealthKit / Google Fit Data: Only with your explicit permission, we read specific metrics (Steps, Heart Rate, Sleep Analysis).
3. How We Use Your Data
- AI Analysis: We send your text transcripts (not audio files, unless you opt-in to storage) to our AI processing partners to extract patterns.
- Service Improvement: To fix bugs and improve the accuracy of our "Insight Engine."
- Personalization: To generate your Daily Stories and specific health insights.
We do NOT sell your health data to advertisers or third parties.
4. Voice Data & AI Processing
- Transcription: Your voice audio is sent to a secure speech-to-text provider.
- Analysis: The resulting text is processed by a Large Language Model (LLM) to extract structured data.
- Data Minimization: Unless you explicitly enable "Store Audio" in Settings, your raw voice recordings are deleted immediately after transcription.
5. HIPAA & Medical Disclaimer
Sympto is NOT a "covered entity" under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The App is a direct-to-consumer wellness tool. Do not use Sympto to store medical records that legally require HIPAA compliance.
